Children’s Art Area
Arts for All invites all children to participate in the “Explore the Arts! Journey to the Jungle” project during the 2013 Arts for All Festival. Sponsored by Comanche County Memorial Hospital and funded in part by the Oklahoma Arts Council and the National Indowment for the Arts, this is a free three day celebration of interactive fine arts activities for young children.
Using “hands-on” art forms, teachers will assist the children in the following projects:
Door Hangers
Drawing
Tin Foil Press
Paper Bag Puppets
Parrots
Face Masks
Safari Hats
Origami
Paint Murals
Drawing & Mural Design Workshop (Friday & Saturday)
Tree & Vine Making Workshop (Friday)
Animal Sculpture Workshop (Saturday)
Children will have a finished product to take home. The Festival Committee wishes to provide fun and thought provoking fine arts experiences for children in ways that teach, and are also entertaining for their age. With sponsorship from Comanche County Memorial Hospital and with the assistance of the Oklahoma Arts Council, the “Explore the Arts! Journey to the Jungle” project at the Arts for All Festival in Lawton is one of a kind in southwest Oklahoma!
